If you pay rent for your primary residence,relief may be available to you. You are only able to claim this relief if you were already renting at 7 December 2010. If you were not renting on that date and you subsequently entered into a rental agreement, you will not be able to claim tax relief on your rent.
The maximum relief for 2012 is as follows:

It is available if you are renting from a Private Landlord or Rental Agency. You cannot claim this relief if you are renting from your parent(s) or from a Housing Authority. To calculate the value of this relief to you, multiply the lower of rent paid and your maximum relief from the table above by 20%.
